Anthropic's official skills repo: documents, design and a template for your own

If you haven't looked at anthropics/skills, it's the public home of Agent Skills from Anthropic: folders with a SKILL.md and supporting scripts that Claude loads only when a task needs them.

What's in it

  • Document skills: docx, pdf, pptx and xlsx, the same ones behind Claude's file creation. Useful when your agent has to produce a real report or spreadsheet, not a markdown file pretending to be one.

  • Example skills for design, web app testing, building MCP servers, and brand and communication work.

  • A template for writing your own skill, which is the fastest way to learn the format.

Install

/plugin marketplace add anthropics/skills
/plugin install document-skills@anthropic-agent-skills
/plugin install example-skills@anthropic-agent-skills

Tip

Read two or three of these before writing your own. The good ones are short, say exactly when they apply, and leave everything else alone, which keeps your agent's context clean.
